Christmas came early this year for Utah Valley University Wasatch Campus when Royal Street Corporation donated $25,000 to help start their resort management program.
“I am so appreciative and thrilled with the support from the Royal Street Corporation,” said Dr. Shad E. Sorenson, administrator of the Wasatch Campus, “Our area has all the criteria to house an internationally, top rated school of resort management.”
Gil Williams, president of Royal Street Corp., “On behalf of Royal Street Corp., I am happy to present to Utah Valley University a check in the amount of $25,000.” Royal Street has a long and successful history in the hospitality industry, having developed and managed award-winning, luxury hotels in New Orleans and San Francisco, as well as in Deer Valley.
“Our Primary goal will be to train leaders to manage and operate the ski resorts, lodging properties, golfing facilities and all related resort management facilities in the area,” said Sorenson.
This is not the end of the road from Royal Street Corp., but only the beginning. “It is the intention of the Royal Street board of directors to monitor the progress of the program and make further contributions if we believe such are warranted.”
The UVU Wasatch Campus is currently working on acquiring housing for this program and other programs that can and will make their campus more viable in the future to bring more students to the Wasatch County. This generous donation is just one of many needed to secure this program for the Wasatch Campus, but with this new program it will bring a myriad of opportunities to t his valley and its citizens.
Thank you to Royal Street Corp. for laying down the corner stone of this landmark program here at the UVU Wasatch Campus.
